What year is this from?
I'm surprised to read it says the saw is not a serious musical instrument... here in NYC we have an annual musical saw festival which features serious saw players every year.
To hear some serious saw playing I recommend www.SawLady.com
By the way - did you ever compose for the saw?

We rarely hear the saw played in England now. Your website is fascinating, and a real eye opener. I will do a post about it .thankyou again.
